Position Summary
The Quality Management System (QMS) Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System in accordance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements (CSRs), and applicable regulatory standards. This position leads internal audit activities, manages corrective actions, ensures compliance with corporate and customer requirements, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maintain external certifications and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the Plant IATF 16949 certification.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements, customer-specific requirements (CSRs), and applicable standards.
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain the Internal Audit Program in accordance with IATF 16949, ISO 19011, and VDA 6.3.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure Layered Process Audits (LPAs) are completed according to schedule across all plant areas.
- Monitor compliance with quality policies, objectives, and corporate procedures.
- Coordinate Management Review meetings and consolidate departmental PDCA reports.
- Review, approve, and control Quality Management System documentation.
- Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, customer, and corporate quality requirements.
- Train and qualify internal auditors.
- Maintain the competency matrix for internal auditors.
- Deliver Quality System and IATF 16949 awareness training.
- Communicate quality policies, objectives, and certification requirements throughout the organization.
- Monitor quality system performance indicators and identify risks affecting certification.
- Provide certification and quality system reports to Corporate and customers when required.
- Lead quality system continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage work teams within the Quality Management System function.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality Management System, Quality Engineering, or similar role within the automotive industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Internal Auditor (IATF 16949 / ISO 19011) preferred.
- Experience with customer-specific requirements (OEMs).
- Experience leading certification and surveillance audits.
- Knowledge of automotive quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience training internal auditors and quality personnel.
