We are seeking an experienced Compensation & Benefits Manager to administer and support the day-to-day operations of the company's compensation and benefits programs. This role is primarily responsible for managing US employee benefits programs, including health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, leave programs, and wellness initiatives, while ensuring programs remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. In addition, this position will also support compensation activities and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration:
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), FSA/HSA, wellness, leave of absence, and voluntary benefits.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and related requirements.
- Lead annual open enrollment activities and employee benefits communications.
- Partner with brokers, consultants, carriers, and third-party administrators to ensure effective administration and service delivery.
- Evaluate existing benefits programs and recommend enhancements to ensure competitiveness, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business needs.
- Monitor benefits utilization, program performance, and costs, providing recommendations to enhance employee experience while managing expenses.
- Design, recommend, and implement new benefit plans and program improvements.
- Monitor administrative costs of benefit programs and recommend cost-containment strategies, alternative funding approaches, and process improvements.
- Assist with benefits budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of required reporting, filings, audits, and regulatory fees.
- Coordinate and support benefits audits, compliance testing, and regulatory reporting activities.
- Review monthly vendor invoices and reconcile benefit-related billing.
- Conduct benefits benchmarking and participate in industry surveys to evaluate market competitiveness and emerging trends.
- Analyze benefits data and trends, forecast future needs, and develop recommendations for management review.
- Develop employee communications, presentations, educational materials, and benefit guides to improve understanding and utilization of available programs.
- Provide training, guidance, and customer support to employees, managers, and HR partners regarding benefits programs and policies.
- Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure data integrity within HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration systems.
Compensation Administration
- Participate in compensation surveys and analyze market trends to support pay decisions and salary structure development.
- Support compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration, market pricing, and annual compensation planning.
- Prepare compensation reports, metrics, and analyses for HR leadership and business management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, disability, leave, and voluntary benefits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS/benefits administration systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate plan performance, costs, and market trends.
- Experience managing vendors, reviewing benefit proposals (RFPs), and negotiating service agreements.
- Working knowledge of benefits laws and regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and related compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting annual compensation processes, including merit reviews, salary planning, incentive administration, and compensation governance.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and provide outstanding employee support.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field, and 5 - 7years of related benefits or employee benefits administration and compensation experience.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, CEBS or CCP professional designations preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
