Position Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for leading the development and launch of automotive steering wheel electronics programs from award through production. This role serves as the primary customer interface and is accountable for achieving program objectives related to timing, quality, cost, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Program Manager works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales teams to ensure successful program execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead steering wheel electronics programs from development through launch and production.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for program-related activities.
- Manage program timing, budgets, deliverables, and profitability.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve quality, cost, and launch objectives.
- Drive issue resolution, risk management, and change management activities.
- Support APQP, PPAP, prototype builds, validation testing, and production launches.
- Communicate program status, risks, and recovery plans to customers and leadership.
- Collaborate with global engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful program execution.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of automotive program management, engineering, or product development experience.
- Experience with automotive electronics, steering wheel systems, controls, switches, sensors, HMI, or related products preferred.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, product launches, and customer program management.
- Strong leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tier 1 automotive supplier experience.
- Experience working directly with OEM customers.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
