Position Summary:
The role of Customer Product Planning (CPP) is to market new technology to customers and win new business acquisitions.  CPP ensures that JSS proposes fully aligned / customer approved technology that meets customer needs and is the best / most competitive cost possible. It requires a deep understanding of safety technology and all costs for engineering, manufacturing, materials, etc.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities outlined in the job description are to be used as a guideline and are not meant to be all-inclusive of the essential functions of the position. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
New Business Acquisition – 
•    Work with customer to obtain project planning information for new business quotations in advance of new business quotations being released, whenever possible.  Plan to maximize advance preparation for new quotations ahead of actual customer RFQ as much as possible.
•    Ensure the technical content being proposed for new quotations is approved by the customer. Work with the customer to get any new tech approved for future quotations.
•    Consistently ensure timely compilation and appropriate / accurate technical proposals for quotations.
•    Understand the market and our competitors. Maximize JSS competitiveness as much as possible vs competitors (both technical and cost).
RFQ Analysis and Technical Content for Quotation – 
•    Prompt analyses and precise / detailed technical proposals for customer RFQs and SORs.
•    Drive customer approval of new technologies needed for new programs.
•    Deep dives into the details of all costs in the Cost Model (BOM, Manufacturing, ED&T, Packaging, Etc.)
•    Organize thorough quotation reviews with cross functional teams (Core, PBU, Product costing, purchasing, operations, logistics, and sales etc.)
Technology Marketing – 
•    Understand internal new technology and be able to discuss with customers.
•    Establish communications with customers to involve them in early stages of technical development to get customer input / feedback on new technology trends and devices.
•    Identify gaps in our technology vs customer needs and feedback to core engineering
•    Initiate and facilitate coordination of tech shows with customers
Product planning – 
•    Update customer record 
•    Update technology GAP and transfer inside
•    Define and update customer product planning 
•    Develop R&D project,make demo samples
Customer relationship – 
•    Create a positive customer relationship
•    Resolve all issues / close all gaps for new business quotations and become completely aligned with customer
•    Visit main customers 1~2 times per month
•    Become key window person with customer regarding new projects and new technology

Qualifications

•    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty Experience with the Global Safety Regulations and consumers ratings
•    Self-motivation and team player
•    Project and time management

 

Education & Experience

•    Bachelors Degree
•    5 years minimum in applicable safety product
