Position Summary:
As the leader of the Airbag Business Unit, you will be responsible for operational excellence for one of our most critical safety divisions. Leading a team dedicated to lifesaving technology.
You will hold P&L responsibility, overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from advanced R&D and global manufacturing to strategic OEM partnership management.
We are looking for a high-energy leader who can navigate the complex regulatory landscape of automotive safety while driving innovation in the next generation of restraint systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a roadmap for the business unit, focusing on market share expansion and autonomous vehicle safety requirements.
• P&L Management: Drive financial performance, ensuring the business unit hits targets for revenue, EBITDA, and operational margin.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee global manufacturing footprints, ensuring world-class Lean practices and a "Zero Defects" culture in production.
• Innovation & Engineering: Direct the development of next-gen airbag technologies (e.g., far-side airbags, pedestrian protection, and integrated smart sensors).
• Customer Relations: Act as the executive face of the business unit for major OEMs securing long-term contracts and managing high-stakes negotiations.
• Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to global safety standards (FMVSS, Euro NCAP, IATF 16949) and manage product liability risks with extreme rigor.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; MBA or Master’s in Engineering highly preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in the automotive industry, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
• Deep knowledge of our Safety Systems (Airbags, Seatbelts, Steering Wheels).
• Proven track record of managing a P&L and leading global, cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and OEM procurement heads.
