Position Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Department to ensure that all products meet customer requirements and international automotive standards. This role focuses on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), overseeing both Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) across the production lifecycle.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certifications.

  • Lead internal and external audits (Customer audits, Registrar audits).

  • Ensure all processes comply with VDA standards (if applicable) and specific customer requirements (CSRs).

  • Oversee the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for new product launches.

  • Manage the submission and approval of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) packages to customers.

  • Lead FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) sessions to identify and mitigate risks during the design and process phases.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns.

  • Manage 8D reports and root cause analysis for non-conformities, ensuring permanent corrective actions are implemented.

  • Oversee Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to ensure raw materials and components meet specifications.

  • Monitor and report on Quality KPIs: PPM (Parts Per Million), COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality), and Scrap rates.

  • Promote a "Zero Defect" culture through the use of Core Tools.

  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement projects.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related).

  • Experience: 5+ years in a Quality leadership role within the Automotive Industry.

  • Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish).
