Education
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, Customs, Law, Business Administration or a related field.
- Master’s degree or specialized certification in trade compliance or customs law is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in Trade Compliance within a manufacturing and IMMEX environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and trade compliance tools.
Objectives and responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with Mexican customs and trade regulations, high knowledge on customs law.
- Monitor and implement regulatory changes assessing impact, define policy & governance to lead the implementation across sites.

- General obligations
- Design appropriate process to manage scrap, disposals and regularizations for trade compliance matters.
- Ensure proper compliance with PROSEC.
- Rule 8th process.
- Preferential trade agreements, country of origin, HTS code classification.
- Experience on leading customs audits and serve as the main point of contact.
- Manage and mitigate customs risks and audits.
- Lead and standardize trade compliance processes across all Mexican plants to ensure consistency, control, and visibility.
- Oversee customs clearance activities for imports and exports and design processes to have a good control of customs documentation.
- Support logistics and materials teams with compliance guidance.
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans to address audit findings and ensure timely closure.
- Identify opportunities to optimize duties, taxes, and trade related costs while maintaining full compliance.
- Support business cases and initiatives related to trade programs, certifications, and process improvements.
- Provide clear reporting and risk assessments to leadership regarding compliance status and exposure.
