Position Summary

The Supplier Quality Serial Production Manager is responsible for supporting supplier quality performance during serial production. This regional role ensures stable, capable, and compliant supplier processes that consistently meet quality targets. The manager supports a team of plant Supplier Quality Assurance Engineers (SQAs), drives problem-solving at suppliers, and works cross-functionally with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to protect the customer and continuously improve supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support supplier quality performance for serial production from launch through end-of-life
• Monitor supplier KPIs including PPM, IPM, Supplier Incident Report (IR), and Cost Claims.
• Lead escalation and containment for high-risk or underperforming suppliers
• Help coach the SQA team on structured problem-solving activities (8D, root cause analysis)
• Ensure supplier compliance to IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements
• Support supplier horizontal deployment/process audits as necessary and ensure timely closure of findings
• Partner cross-functionally with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Logistics
• Drive continuous improvement and reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
• Support cost claim recovery related to supplier quality issues
• Help lead, coach, and develop the regional team of Supplier Quality Assurance Engineers
• Promote a quality culture with extreme sense of urgency and ownership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Operations
• 3+ years of leadership or people management experience
• Strong experience supporting serial production in automotive or regulated manufacturing
• Strong supplier-facing communication and escalation skills
• 8D and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Ability to travel to Joyson Plant and Supplier Locations as necessary (25-40%).
