Position Summary
The General Ledger Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations related to the general ledger, ensuring accurate month‑end close activities, compliance with internal controls, and alignment with corporate accounting policies. This role provides guidance to the GL team, supports audits, and drives continuous improvement within accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the General Ledger team, providing guidance, task assignment, and performance feedback.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Monitor balance sheet integrity and ensure resolution of discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and ensuring process adherence.
- Maintain compliance with corporate accounting policies, SOX requirements, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with other finance areas such as AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Tax, and Cost Accounting to resolve accounting issues.
- Participate in process improvements, system enhancements, and optimization initiatives related to GL processes.
- Prepare and review financial analyses and reports requested by management.
- Ensure proper documentation of procedures, guidelines, and controls within the GL area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, including experience leading or supervising a team.
